Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Oat Bars

These Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Oat Bars are a wholesome snack made with rich dark chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and a boost of added protein. With minimal sugar, they’re a deliciously satisfying treat. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants and provides a lower sugar option compared to milk chocolate, while adding whey protein powder makes these bars a more balanced nutrient option, offering a blend of carbs, protein, and healthy fats. These bars strike the perfect balance between indulgence and nutrition, making them an ideal way to treat yourself while staying on track with your health goals.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or 1:1 gluten free flour)
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 30 g (typically 1 scoop) unflavored whey protein powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • chopped peanuts for topping (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 baking pan by spraying it with oil (we used avocado oil)
  2. In a small bowl combine all the dry ingredients (flour, oats, protein powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt) and mix well. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl combine melted butter, peanut butter, egg and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the bowl with the wet ingredients and mix well.
  5. Press the dough into prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 15 - 20 minutes or until the dough just started to become golden brown.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle with dark chocolate chips. Allow the chocolate chips to melt and then spread evenly over the top. Add chopped nuts or the topping of your choice.
  8. Cut into 16 bars.
  9. Enjoy
