More About Lauren

Lauren is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) with a Master’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences with an emphasis in Sports Nutrition and Wellness.

Lauren graduated with her Bachelors of Science from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and received her Masters of Science from the University of Kentucky. She completed her Dietetic Internship Supervised Practice from Georgia Southern University and moved to Denver, Colorado to begin her career as a Registered Dietitian.

Lauren has experience in nutrition coaching for sport performance, weight loss/maintenance, body fat loss, weight gain and intuitive eating. Additionally, she has worked with high school athletes, college students, strength and endurance athletes and adults with goals of body composition change.

Lauren became passionate about nutrition health, wellness and performance through her own interest in endurance running. She noticed herself at a young age how much nutrition can power performance. Lauren is an endurance runner who has completed over 10 marathons and is currently training for her fourth Boston Marathon in 2020. Lauren is also an Ultra-marathoner and recently ran the Leadville Silver Rush 50-mile race. When Lauren is not running for fun you can find her hiking in the mountains, snowboarding or baking cookies for her friends.

Lauren believes in the power of nutrition and how it can impact and power performance as well as mental mindset. She is passionate about nutrition and seeks to help others in their performance goals through nutritional intake. Lauren has worked with a variety of clients, each with diverse nutritional intakes, and believes nutritional preference is unique and not one approach will fit all.

I cannot recommend Lauren highly enough! I’m 51, and a lifetime athlete — but this spring, I was diagnosed with very high pressure (I had no idea!) Lauren worked with me to understand labels and find the hidden areas of sodium in my diet that I could eliminate. She taught me that alcohol and caffeine were especially areas that would affect blood pressure. With her help, I learned what a “high sodium” food is and how to manage my diet to balance blood pressure. My blood pressure is now normal and so thankful for her assistance.

I started working with Lauren becuase I wanted to improve my metabolic efficiency and avoid any GI issues during training and competition. I do half and full distance Ironman races and I had lots of issues in the past. Lauren gave me a set of nutrition strategies and recommendations based on my training sessions and my food preferences. She answered all my questions and I really enjoyed her one-to-one video conferences. She was super helpful and informative. I feel much stronger now and I am able to do long training sessions without any stomach issues. Her recommendations are not only for endurance athletes but for all people that want better health. I am looking forward to working with Lauren again in the near future when the race season starts.

Working with Lauren was a genuinely transformative experience. I was able to discover the power, freedom, and ease of which my body is capable, and to achieve confidence and competence when it comes to nutrition. As someone with allergies and a sensitive stomach, figuring out what to eat for optimum performance felt impossible. Lauren listened to my specific needs, offered suggestions and guidance, and was my biggest cheerleader. Her warmth and positivity alongside her expertise gave me the platform to successfully run my first marathon, well-fueled and thriving. Thank you, Lauren!!
